New blog post

WARDROBE WEDNESDAY: Alice & Olivia in New York City (by Day & by Night)

I had a last minute shopping spree at Saks in New York when I had an event to attend and had brought nothing suitable to wear. On the fifth floor there is a sweet little section dedicated to one of my favorite design co.'s, Alice & Olivia. I grabbed an anything-but-basic red chiffon dress, a simple pair of nude Pour La Victoire heels and a screaming-at-me-from-the-rack cardigan covered in little crystals. Later in my trip I happened to meet a gal who worked at the Alice & Olivia store in midtown and she told me that all the girls who worked there were salivating over that sweater when it came into the shop. I'm so glad I chose it. It's super versatile!

BY DAY:
So, here's me with my vintage uncut diamond & Jade earrings, my staple Sir Alistair Raileopard scarf and my Alice & Olivia cardigan. Jeans are Current Elliot and, of course, you'll be seeing a lot of me with my Kooba bag.

BY NIGHT:
For an evening cocktail party I shimmied into the Red Dress and swapped out my makeup for a 1960's Kim Novak inspired look.
Bold overdrawn eyebrows, smoky eyes, strong cheeks and nude lips. I teased up my hair (which had fallen considerably by the time I took this picture since I travelled without hairspray-- and hairspray is the key ingredient to keeping a good tease) and pinned the bottom up in a messy bun.
