Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

HAPPY FRIDAY! How about a weekend with the gals?
I have a few movie recommendations...
Some flicks you may have not seen or have forgotten about. Perfect for a girls night...

The effervescent Amy Adams, the always-satisfying Frances McDormand, the devastatingLee Pace and the devilishly-delicious Mark Strong star in this 1940 romantic comedy about a tough/smart/compassionate/awkward/hilarious middle-aged London governess who has been unfairly dismissed from her job and finds herself swept up into the whirlwind life of an American actress who struggles between following love or pursuing her career. Very Romantic.

Meg Ryan in her glory days, and Kevin Kline match up as quirky OCD Kate who has been left by her fiance for a petite French tarte and the sneaky-thief-with-a-heart-of-gold Luc, who is traveling with some precious cargo from America. The movie whisks you away to Paris and the breathtaking French countryside and with two actors of this caliber, it's hard to go wrong. Their chemistry is undeniable. Make sure you've got a good bottle of wine, a few imported cheeses, and a copy of the soundtrack to play afterward and keep your party going.

Christina Ricci is Penelope who has a small problem-- she was born with a pig nose. No, seriously. She was born with the nose of a pig. It's an old family curse. Then there's this guy who's working for a dwarf photographer to try and get a picture of her to sell to the papers for lots of money. Only he starts to fall in love with her even though he's never seen her because she hides in this room with a big one-way mirror wall... and there's Reese Witherspoon and Catherine O'Hara. James McAvoy is the guy and he's adorable and it's just, all-around, a GREAT little fairy tale of a movie.

Don't even start-- you know this movie is awesome. If you haven't seen it, it's not hard to figure out. Rough guy learns to dance from the ballerina and they combine their equally great styles into one epic urban dancegasm. It's basically "The Cutting Edge" without skates. If you haven't seen The Cutting Edge-- don't talk to me.
